I feel like I’ve been in the hospitality business my whole life. At just five years old, I was already running through the halls of El Conquistador in Puerto Rico, where my mother worked as an executive secretary. I learned early on the joy of entertaining — my parents and their friends taught me how to make piña coladas, Cuba libres, martinis, and rum old-fashioneds while they played bridge.
Though I spent 15 years exploring careers in navigation, diving, and engineering, I ultimately found my way back to what I love most: welcoming people. I’ve managed
restaurants for Applebee’s, Budweiser, and Starwood, served as a chef and general manager, and even owned my own establishments.
For the past nine years, I’ve had the pleasure of hosting guests from around the globe at my villa beside Puerto Rico’s lush rainforest. Airbnb has helped me grow this passion into a thriving business, and I hope it’ll soon lead to my dream of an off-grid, eco-friendly resort with treehouses, bungalows, and natural pools overlooking the rainforest and ocean.
